The End

So we're staying here in Grand Rapids. Our 'plan A' was to ride out to Muskegon MI, and take the ferry across Lake Michigan to Milwaukee (another city I enjoy). We found out though that the ferry is crazy expensive. First you have to pay a large fee per person, but it's almost double to take bike on the ferry as well. So our 'plan B' was to ride southwest, swing underneath and past Chicago, and continue on into Iowa. So we started riding through Michigan and took a few rests. My knee was bothering me like crazy and we were stopping to rest constantly.

We broke back into Illinois, and rode for a while. We ended up camping in a line of pine trees. It was actually an awesome spot because there were two lines of trees and if you fought through one line there was a small tunnel between the two with a soft floor of needles. I had a hard time sleeping because my knee was bothering me. When I woke up I could hardly move my leg, I had to use tree limbs to stand myself up. I told George that the trip was over.

We called Ashley and told her where we were, and that we were done. Since she is AMAZING she came and picked us up. While riding George and I kept seeing these signs for "The Best (and only Authentic Spanish Restaurant in Indiana" and we asked Ashley if we could go. They had the best food ever, and I will go the next chance I get.

At the time Ashleys whole family was at a camp ground, so we all went there. It was fun, they had a heated pool and it was a quaint little place. Back in Grand Rapids for a while longer, hanging out, watching a lot of scrubs. We went to the beach a few times; I love swimming in the Great Lakes.

So the grand adventure is over. Till next time.

Other pictures from the road:

We saw this monument. It has a rocket sitting on it, and a map of the United States with the quote "Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord."
This amazing old school place in Indianapolis that George's friends took us to for food.
